ireland

so... i've always wanted to go to ireland/ just out of the country and backpack my way through a really cool place. last night a group of girls and myself went to see the movie leap year and it was very predictable and kinda on the cheesy side but that's not the point- the point is, is that i came out of the movie with a new determination to make an ireland trip a reality. so, i'm gonna make this happen: i'm going ahead and setting aside the 2 weeks following camp this summer which just happens to be: august 14-28ish and i'm just gonna go for it. i figure if i get plane tickets now hopefully i can snag a deal and from there who knows....

i feel like every person should go on a trip like this: discover your family history (i'm full-blooded irish and have the red hair to prove it), see castles and jaw-dropping views, visit little pubs that are filled with manly accents and laughter, just being free of responsiblities of everyday life by letting go and each day waking up just to enjoy the day for what it could possibly bring... i'm gonna make this trip happen and it will be just grand.

  1. Kathleen,
While my sister is not the most adventurous person she did study abroad in Ireland, and while she was there she did do some backpacking/hiking stuff. You should ask her about it because she knows places to go and also places to stay on the cheap(aka hostels). Just an idea.
